【列車上的女孩】是一部羅生門式的懸疑電影，電影的敘事者被分為三位女性，劇情交互穿插三人的遭遇，三人的片段當中並不一定完全都是真相，反而會因為角色本身的偏見或是精神狀態而有不同的解讀，連時間線也不是固定的，有的時候電影進入倒敘的狀態，有的時候可能只是角色的夢境。
艾蜜莉布朗所飾演的瑞秋因為酗酒的緣故，所以記憶經常處於混亂的狀態，而且有些時刻，她的角色的主觀認定相當的強烈，反而是看電影的觀眾由於還會看到另外兩位角色的觀點，因此會比女主角更接近事件的真相，全片的劇情錯綜複雜，峰迴路轉，愛看黑色懸疑電影的觀眾朋友值得一看。
